WHAT IS?

Assessment is the process of collecting reliable and valid information with the help of standardized tools to integrate and comprehend something before coming to a decision. It is the process of measuring communicative behaviours of interest. Ultimately, all initial clinical decisions are based on information derived from an assessment process.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT?

Our team uses assessment information to:

  1. Make professional diagnoses and conclusions.
  2. Identify the need for referral to other professionals.
  3. Identify the need for intervention.
  4. Determine the focus of intervention.
  5. Determine the frequency and length of intervention, and
  6. Make decisions about the structure of intervention (e.g., individual versus group sessions, intervention with or without caregiver involvement).

WHAT DO WE USE?

  1. Communication DEALL
  2. Language Processing Test (LPT 3)
  3. Elementary:Assesses discrete language processing skills, profiling strengths and weaknesses to inform diagnosis and intervention.
  4. Test for Examining Expressive Morphology (TEEM):Test for Examining Expressive Morphology (TEEM) evaluates expressive morpheme development in children ages 3 through 7 years.
  5. (REEL-3) Receptive-Expressive Emergent Language Test, Third Edition:Identifies disabilities, conditions, and impairments that may affect language development.
  6. Three-dimensional language assessment test.
